This intensive training course will prepare you to deal with conflicts and emergency situations as a security officer. This SIA-approved license will allow you to work in any private or public spaces some examples include businesses, private properties, residential, retail, bars, clubs, pubs etc.

We highly recommend confirming and booking at least 2 weeks to secure your place.

Can you provide a course outline?
  • Module One: Principles of Working in the Private Security Industry
  • Module Two: Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry
  • Module Three: Applying Conflict Management Skills in the Private Security Industry
  • Module Four: Applying Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry
What documents are required?
  • Proof of English language ability – a Level 2 English qualification obtained in the UK, such as a GCSE, college certificate or degree.
    Alternatively, you can complete a free 40-minute English assessment before the course date.
  • One colour passport-sized photograph
  • One original proof of identity, such as:
    • Passport
    • Driving licence
    • UK birth certificate
  • Two recent proofs of address, dated within the last three months, such as:
    • Utility bill
    • Bank statement
    • Gas or electricity bill
    • Payslip
    • P60 or P45
    • HMRC letter
How long is the course?

6 full days, starting from 9 am.

How are the learners assessed?

Do I need a valid first aid certificate?

Yes and you may need an additional day if you do not already hold a valid first aid certificate.

When should I book?

We recommend booking at least two weeks in advance to secure your place.

When do I need to renew my licence again?

You need to renew your SIA licence every 3 years. 

What happens after I pass my exams?

Once your results are released, we will notify you.

Your qualification will then be added to your SIA online account. It is your responsibility to log in to the SIA portal and apply for your licence.

The SIA will provide instructions during the application process.
