Museum of London

The Museum of London is a prominent cultural institution located in the city of London, United Kingdom. It is a comprehensive museum dedicated to showcasing the rich and diverse history of London from prehistoric times to the present day. The museum was founded in 1976 and is renowned for its extensive collection of artifacts, documents, and exhibits that provide a vivid and detailed account of London’s evolution through the centuries.

Gurkha security services were entrusted with the crucial responsibility of serving as the lead security team for the highly esteemed Cheapside Hoard Exhibition. Spanning from 2013 to 2015, this prestigious event showcased a remarkable collection of jewelry and gemstones discovered in London in 1912. The exhibition, held at a renowned museum, aimed to transport visitors back in time to the Elizabethan and Jacobean eras, offering a unique glimpse into the opulent world of the past.

The Museum of London had a real concern for the safety of their valuable items, and rightfully so. They needed a security team that could swiftly respond to any security breaches or potential threats. To ensure the protection of the precious jewels, we provided them with a team of 7 highly trained GSS security officers. These officers were equipped with stab vests, which they wore diligently during their shifts. The vests proudly displayed the GSS logo. Our security officers underwent rigorous training in door supervision and operating CCTV systems.

We also provided on-site training and management visits throughout the contract, as well as 24-hour monitoring and response. The client was extremely pleased with our efforts in safeguarding their valuable jewels and commended us for our actions. In recognition of their bravery, we awarded the security officers with a bravery appreciation award.

While our contingency plan and rapid response management worked effectively, we must always remember the old adage, “No plan survives contact with the enemy.” Therefore, quick decision-making and effective communication remain crucial for successful management and support.

Our decision to select GSS for this exhibition was based on its professionalism and high standards of service. The Gurkhas are polite and gentle with our visitors. They are also smart and agile and they don’t miss a thing.
